Northwest Morris Canal Greenway – Multiple Towns in Northwest NJ

CP was engaged by local communities and governmental agencies to explore and develop the planning of the Northwest Morris Canal Greenway Project. The project involves the development of a 10-mile trail which would span Sussex and Morris Counties and pass through the townships and boroughs of Roxbury, Hopatcong, Netcong, Stanhope, Byram & Mount Olive. The greenway would expand eco-tourism for Northwest New Jersey, while enhancing access to valued natural resources. The greenway would begin in Waterloo Village and continue eastward to Orben Park. Along this 10-mile route, the greenway would traverse 3 transit stations, multiple village centers and 8 parks. The Northwest portion of this greenway is part of much larger trail, the Morris Canal Greenway, currently in varying stages of development which spans 102 total miles from Philipsburg (Warren County) to Jersey City (Hudson County).
