Leadership Team

As President and CEO of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, Stan is responsible for the corporate management of CP’s business units and market sectors, as well as leading all administration, finance, staffing, budgeting, strategic planning, development of marketing sectors, and the overall growth and diversification of the firm.

Stan directs engineering and construction management programs for several of the firm’s clients.  His experience includes all phases of project engineering and management including feasibility studies, pilot studies, planning studies, cost estimating, economic analyses, design services and construction management.  He has provided professional services to governmental and industrial clients covering most spheres of facility and environmental engineering, water and wastewater management, capital infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.

Stan’s professional career began with a small local engineering consulting firm.  During his 26 years at that firm, he led it to record growth which eventually became recognized as one of the most prominent, regional, multi-state firms with diversified services and markets.  During his tenure, he has participated in and directed hundreds of public and private sector projects.  His work experience encompasses a diverse client base from municipalities and state agencies to the pharmaceutical and defense industries.  He led projects in municipal engineering, environmental remediation, land use analysis, engineering design, and construction management.  Today, Stan serves as the Principal-in-Charge for an assortment of essential programs and clients.  He possesses 35 years of professional experience in all areas of engineering, planning, architecture, environmental science, and construction management.

Stan embraces the philosophy of servant leadership and is passionate about shepherding each team member to help drive the corporate mission, vision, and values of the firm.

As Executive Vice President and COO of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, Steve oversees all engineering services provided by the firm and is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive project quality control and quality assurance program. Steve is passionate about quality and service and has put systems in place to make certain that the firm delivers the highest quality and level of service on every project.

As a licensed Professional Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field, Steve has managed a diverse portfolio of projects during his career. He has been in charge of major water and wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater collection and conveyance systems, water distribution systems, and solid waste facilities.

Steve has served as Project Manager on a substantial number of complex projects and has played a key role in various stages of the process including planning, design, permitting, financing and contract negotiation, construction management, and startup and testing services. Several of his projects have been praised for their excellence and received prestigious industry awards. Steve’s success comes from extensive experience with an assorted range of projects, meticulousness and accuracy in his work, and sensitivity to client needs.

As a Vice President of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, Amy is responsible for client account management in the Commercial and Industrial Services market sector as well as the water client accounts in the Water Resources market sector.   Amy manages projects from concept through construction and oversees project teams.  She provides project management and engineering services to municipal and private clients.

Amy has 25 years of engineering experience in a variety of roles and industries. Her career began in the corporate engineering department of a global chemical company.  During her 6 years there, she worked at three different facilities.  She designed process equipment for the company’s plant facilities across the United States.

Amy’s next adventure led her to a national engineering consulting company which focused on supporting the nation’s nuclear power plants.  Over the course of 14 years, she advanced from a design engineer, to a group lead, and ultimately to a discipline supervisor.  She led project teams large and small, performed analyses and developed plant modification packages.  Her experiences in the chemical and power industries gave her an appreciation for the hard work required to bring products to market and to keep the nation’s infrastructure up and running.

Amy’s favorite part about working for CP is learning about the many different types of businesses operated by our clients.  She enjoys the fact that everyday brings something new.

As a Vice President of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, Dave is responsible for client account management in the Civil/Municipal and environmental market sector.  Dave manages projects from concept through construction and oversees project teams.  He provides project management and engineering services to municipal and private clients.

Dave is a licensed Professional Engineer with more than 31 years of experience in civil/municipal and environmental engineering. During his career, he has managed projects for a vast client base including public, educational, and private clients involving infrastructure, facilities, and projects in the built environment.

Dave has provided engineering design and consulting services for numerous New Jersey counties, municipalities and educational facilities. He served as Board Engineer for the City of Orange Township Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2008 to 2014 and again from 2016 to present and the Planning Board from 2008 to 2014 and again from 2015 to 2019.  He has also been the Land Use Board Engineer for the Borough of Mount Arlington from 2019 to present.

Dave’s various and diverse experience encompasses analysis, design, and construction of civil engineering projects such as landfill closure, natural gas, water, and sanitary and storm water infrastructure. Furthermore, it includes building structural inspection and evaluation, structural design and analysis, geotechnical and foundation design, facilities management, recreation and athletic field design and layout, site plan and subdivision layout, grading, and roadway design. He also has extensive experience with watershed hydrologic analyses, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design for storm water management facilities, individual subsurface disposal systems, petroleum facility design, dam hazard classification analyses, dam reconstruction and rehabilitation, and floodplain determinations for non-delineated waters.

Dave’s environmental background and knowledge involves implementation and management of contaminant investigations and remediation design at hazardous materials or waste sites along with regulatory compliance and hazardous waste reduction protocols for a major petrochemical client. Additionally, he has pervasive experience in site remediation of soil and groundwater contamination, environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for civil engineering projects, and due diligence and regulatory compliance for commercial and industrial real estate transactions.

He maintains a comprehensive knowledge of state, county and local regulatory and permitting requirements as they relate to the planning and implementation of engineering, utility and environmental projects, as well.

Lucy Weems is Vice President of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, where she is responsible for accounting and finance, and a range of marketing programs. As a member of the Executive Board, she plays a crucial role in driving innovation that fuels growth for the company.

With over 30 years in progressive accounting, finance, human resources, administration, and management, her career has included roles with the Highland Lakes Community Association, Betts Environmental, Leyland Alliance, and Mountain Creek Resort. With an innate ability to manage multiple moving parts, streamline complex processes, and lead high-performing teams, Lucy is widely known for creating enterprise-wide efficiencies that result in bottom line growth.

In addition to adding value to multiple businesses and organizations, Lucy also owned and operated a local Limousine Service, where she spent the better part of a decade nurturing her entrepreneurial business management skills.

Tom Furey, P.E., is Vice President of CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services, where he oversees the Environmental Services and Construction Management Group. In addition to leading and developing a high-performing team of environmental and utility engineering experts, he is also responsible for strategic planning, business development, and project management, focusing on expanding the division’s capabilities to better serve the construction and environmental industry.

Previously, Tom was a Managing Member of TFC Engineers & Environmental, where he provided strategic direction, implementation support, and project solutions oversight for public and private clients. His impressive career has also included leadership and technical roles with BCM Engineering, Willis and Paul Group, and HNTB Engineers. Boasting over 30 years of experience in the engineering, environmental, and construction industries, Tom has advanced expertise in site development, engineering, and building design; environmental, engineering, and remediation; and property redevelopment and real estate transactions.

Tom holds licenses as a Professional Engineer in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Through the years, he has been actively involved with several professional and industry-specific organizations, including the Roxbury Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA), the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA).

Matt Peles is CP Engineers, Architecture and Environmental Services Associate Vice President, where he leads the Water Resources Group. In this role, he is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team of water resources experts, with a continued focus on expanding the division’s capabilities to better serve the water resources market.

Matt is a licensed Professional Engineer with advanced project management experience in the environmental engineering, refining, marine, and municipal industries. Having served as project engineer for several well-known engineering firms over the past 25 years, Matt has amassed a reputation for his ability to masterfully manage the most complex projects, offering advanced thought leadership and out-of-the-box solutions.

Since joining CP in 2021, Matt has played a crucial role in expanding the firm’s Water Resources group. His advanced knowledge of and extensive background in the highly regulated field has uniquely positioned him to not only offer superior support to clients, but also develop a team of high performers who are equally committed to going above and beyond to solve problems that help clients succeed.

Matt’s areas of specialty include planning, preliminary design, detailed design, contract document preparation, bidding, contract negotiation, construction management, and contractor coordination. Matt is an active member of the American Water Works Association and the NJ Water Resource Association

Ed Hennessy is Associate Vice President of Human Resources, where he is responsible for recruiting, staff development, and retention. In this capacity, he also oversees the firm’s corporate personnel policies, ensuring they add ongoing value to team members.

Ed began his career in 2009 after receiving his BA in Political Science from Saint Peter’s University. His first foray into Human Resources began with Baseil Associates, Inc., where he spent nearly a decade managing talent acquisition for the business. From there, he moved into a Human Resources Generalist position with Kearfott Corporation before joining CP in early 2022.

With advanced expertise in HR, recruiting, and talent development, Ed plays a crucial role in driving growth for the business through the people that power it. With a positive leadership style that’s grounded in empowerment, he sets the tone for the employee experience while ensuring a productive and healthy working environment.

Ed is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, an organization that’s committed to creating better workplaces where employers and employees thrive together.

Frank Zgoda serves as CP Engineers, Architecture & Environmental Services, Associate Vice President of the Water Resources Group, as well as the Manager of the State College, Pennsylvania Office. Frank is a licensed Professional Engineer with more than 15 years of experience in multiple engineering fields and project management.

Frank possesses diverse technical skills developed through his experience in consulting and facility engineering, as well as substantial construction and manufacturing experience. He is an expert in project development, design and construction in both the public and private sectors. In addition, he is an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

During his career he has managed projects of various sizes and complexities, including planning and preliminary design, detailed design and contract document preparation, bidding and/or contract negotiation, construction management and contractor coordination.
