CP Engineers: Safe Water. Smart Solutions. Serving Our Communities.

Why PFAS Matters for Our Communities

Across our communities, towns and water providers are pending DEP regulations about PFAS – harmful chemicals sometimes called “forever chemicals” – in drinking water. States are now requiring strict testing and treatment to make sure our water is safe for everyone.

As the communities we serve throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey enact PFAS regulations, municipalities face urgent challenges in protecting public health while managing costs. CP Engineers brings proven expertise in PFAS treatment technologies, backed by successful case studies, full-scale implementation and a deep understanding of evolving compliance requirements.

For local leaders, this means big decisions: How do you protect residents, meet regulations, and keep costs under control? As a proven leader in solving the PFAS treatment question, we are here to help!

The Good News: Solutions Already Exist

You don’t have to start from scratch. There are proven technologies available right now that can remove PFAS from water. The key is to choose the right solution for your community’s needs and budget.

Our Experience: Real Results for Real Communities

We know what works because we’ve done it. In a large municipality and a private lake community, our team designed and installed PFAS treatment systems that brought water back into compliance – protecting public health and restoring community confidence.

Here’s our latest achievements:

  • Municipality: We helped the township respond quickly to high PFAS levels of a 200 GPM combined well treatment facilities, which required taking several affected wells offline. CP has designed a comprehensive treatment system using an ion exchange system to effectively treat the high PFAS levels.
  • Lake community: Our client is a private lake community which has its own water company and 2 active wells, which supply the water to the homes community wide. The wells have a combined capacity of 35 GPM. CP installed advanced filtration technology, including reverse osmosis and an electrostatic precipitator to cleanse the water and remove PFAS to meet all state and federal standards. The scope of this project includes the construction of a new treatment building. CP went through the NJ infrastructure bank and secured state funding for our client.

How PFAS Can Be Treated

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, but here are the main options:

  • Granular Activated Carbon (GAC): Like a super-powered water filter, great for removing many types of PFAS.
  • Ion Exchange: Uses special resins to “trap” PFAS chemicals, especially effective for certain types.
  • Reverse Osmosis: A high-tech filter that removes almost everything – including PFAS – from water.

We help you choose the best fit, based on your water system and budget.

What About the Cost?
