Originally developed in the 1920s by the American Viscose Company to house workers for its rayon plant, the borough’s unique Garden City-inspired design, brick row homes, and central green spaces have been meticulously preserved for over a century1. The borough’s resilience and adaptability have enabled it to survive and thrive long after many similar communities faded from the map1.
Investing in the Future: Infrastructure and Grant Support
Our first major initiative as borough engineer is to help Juniata Terrace secure two ~$500,000 grants through Pennsylvania’s Small Water and Sewer Program, targeting critical infrastructure improvements2. These grants will fund:
