The Borough of Washington has an extensive sanitary sewer system including about 116,000 feet of pipe ranging in size from 6-inch to 30-inch diameter and several pumping stations. Much of the Borough system is nearly 100 years old. To facilitate an ongoing Infiltration and Inflow program, CP Engineers is utilizing GIS to create a complete system map. In addition to aiding in Infiltration and Inflow reduction, GIS mapping will facilitate future system operation and maintenance, including asset location, condition assessment and asset management.
