Our firm provided conceptual and final design, bidding, and construction phase services for the reconstruction of the school’s primary parking lot. Additional improvements consisted of a new concrete sidewalk and a landscape island to facilitate a linear bus circulation pattern, which maximizes student safety by allowing them to enter and exit buses to and from a designated pedestrian sidewalk area. Prior to construction students had to cross an active parking lot to reach the buses. Stormwater management aspects of the project consisted of the redesign of and replacement of existing seepage pits for rooftop runoff with overflows into the site’s existing stormwater management system.
